AFTER SCHOOL CARE / BSO
During the academic year students are welcome at Funtazia After School Care (BSO) for fun filled afternoons with friends. During the school holidays children may join many of the 'Funtastic at Funtazia' Holiday Care themed days and weeks full of activities, workshops and excursions.
After School Care (BSO)
Funtazia offers children 4 – 12 years, a fun extension to their day – our After School Care (BSO) programme provides an enriching experience for primary school-aged children from 14:45 to 18:30 every day in a welcoming and homely environment.
Upon arrival, children enjoy a nutritious snack in the cafeteria followed by outdoor play on the spacious and well-equipped playground. Playing outside regularly helps children improve their motor skills while leading to improved muscle strength, boosted immune system, and an improved mood. Outdoor play also has numerous social benefits including better peer-to-peer relationships and greater self-awareness.
Throughout the remainder of the afternoon, children can choose from a variety of both structured and unstructured activities to meet the interests of all the children including board games, LEGO™ building, arts and crafts, and imaginative play. Funtazia recognises that at the end of a full school day the need for relaxation is important for some children and that a puzzle or sitting with a book in the reading house can be equally as important and meaningful. A second healthy snack is provided, and the final half-hour allows for relaxation before pickup.
During their time in BSO children may also register to attend one of the many After School Activities (ASA’s) offered on the NAISR campus. Children are taken to, and collected from, these lessons by the BSO staff. Activities vary per academic year but may include:
Athletic, Ball Sports, Self Defence, Music – private music lessons can be arranged, Theatre, Dance, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Gardening, Sewing, STEAM activities, LEGO™, and Chess.
Our Creative & Caring Staff
As an international day care, we are proud of our diverse and multicultural staff. All of our teachers are pedagogically trained and qualified with the DUO certification. But what truly sets them apart is their genuine love for children and their nurturing temperament.
Many of our teachers are First Aid certified including Baby and Child First Aid, with at least one fully qualified first aid staff member on duty at all times, often more.
Through our connection with Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam, Funtazia teachers receive further professional development from the academic team leaders.

Healthy Meals
At Funtazia, we prioritise providing nutritious meals and snacks for all children throughout the day. On half days and during holiday weeks our onsite catering partner, Catermaat, ensures that meals are freshly prepared daily. For morning and afternoon snacks, children enjoy a variety of wholesome options such as fresh fruit, vegetables, raisins, whole grain crackers and bread, low-fat cream cheese, as well as milk and water. Children in the BSO and holiday care will additionally from time to time enjoy special themed related snacks such as popcorn, ice-cream and mocktails.
At Funtazia, we maintain a nut-free environment to ensure the safety of all children.
Bilingual Care (EN / NL)
Funtazia’s international staff understand the importance of language acquisition. With English and Dutch as the two primary languages, all students will be exposed to both, whether during story time, singing or playing.
Our multicultural and multilingual teachers are proficient in both English and Dutch, guaranteeing a cohesive approach to language learning.
Holiday Care
The Funtazia Holiday Care programme offers an exciting array of activities, workshops and excursions for primary school-aged children during school holidays.
Designed to promote fun and learning, children can socialise with friends and explore new interests.
Children are supervised, engaged, and supported throughout the day, enjoying a warm or cold lunch along with nutritious snacks and drinks.
Funtazia staff speak both English and Dutch exposing students to two languages – in both our after school care and holiday care programmes.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Drop-off and Pick-up
After School Care children join Funtazia at the end of the school day.
NAISR students are dismissed and meet the BSO staff in the cafeteria, while children from local Dutch schools are either collected by a dedicated Funtazia teacher and walk as a group to Funtazia, or are brought to Funtazia by a parent or guardian.
Pick-up for After School Care is before 18:30.
Drop-off for Holiday Care is between 08:00-09:00 and collection is either before 17:00 or 18:30.
Early Dismissals
Children attending NAISR are automatically registered for BSO from 12:00 on early dismissal days where these fall on a child’s regularly scheduled BSO day. Extra BSO for additional early dismissal days can be requested via bso@funtazia.nl.
